Description:
Services: offers a safe, structured day health program centering around social, emotional, health
care and recreational needs of disabled individuals. Families that desire to keep elderly members in the home will be given relief from full-time care of an impaired person.
Two programs are available at the Center:
1) For clients with Alzheimer's disease or a related memory disorder, activities are kept short and are intended to make the client feel good. These include: massage, music therapy, frequent snacks, walks in the garden.
2) For clients who are able to enjoy a higher level of functioning, activities are intended to promote
independence and self-esteem and maintain current health status. These include exercise, gardening, dance,
music, arts & crafts, community excursions, & reality orientation.
Eligibility: must be 18+ and in need of protective and supportive care. Participants cannot require total
one-to-one care, but may need help with personal care and/or socialization. No history of violence or disruptive behavior. Must be able to get along in a group setting.
