The Community Office promotes the mission of Catholic Charities Hawaii on the island of Maui in partnership with the local community. The Community Office assists families and individuals in need by providing information, help with applications for assistance, and referrals to Catholic Charities Hawaii programs or other local resources. Working to identify and link resources to address gap needs on Maui, the Community Director is the on-island point of contact for collaboration with local agencies and community organizations.
Programs available on Maui include:
COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Provides limited financial assistance to families facing temporary financial hardship typically related to urgent housing needs (rent, deposit, utilities). Also provides referrals to CCH programs
and community partner network.
FOSTER OR RELATIVE PLACEMENT SERVICES
We provide home study and case management services for children statewide who are being reunified with biological parents or who are being considered for foster or relative placement. We
also monitor and ensure safe and stable placement of children in foster or relative care. (see government referral services)
MEDICATION MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
Provides educational group sessions on proper medication management and one-on-one medication screenings to prevent misuse of medication through scheduled events in the community.
SUPPORTIVE SERVICES FOR VETERAN FAMILIES
We help homeless veterans and those at risk of homelessness and their families achieve housing stability by providing resources that help them become or remain permanently housed.
