The mission of Mental Health America of Hawaii is to promote mental wellness through education, advocacy, and service. We endeavor to reduce the stigma of mental illness and improve the overall care, treatment and empowerment of those with mental illnesses – children, adults, elders – and their families.
The Maui Branch offers the following services for adults:
• Educational classes and support groups for families who have a loved one with mental illness (co-sponsored with National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Hawaii).
• Support group for men incarcerated in Maui County Community Correctional facility
• Mental Health First Aid trainings (how to help a person developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis) in different communities throughout the County
• Trainings for Maui Police Department in how to most effectively handle mental health crises
